Disclosure: I am a Gone For A Run ambassador. As such, I am asked to review products from time to time and share my honest opinions. Gone For A Run provided both items in this review. All thoughts on the products are my own.
Last week I received two items for review: The Commuter Cup and an Everyday State Runners Tee. I chose these items as they looked like items I’d use everyday. They represent something I’d buy for my friends or family members. Represent my state and hot coffee for my state of mind? Yes please!
First I sat down with the Commuter Cup. Most mornings start like this for Shenanigans:
Me, the laptop, you guys, and my cup of coffee. I drink a cup a day. If I make it at home and take it with me to drop off the kids, I save $4 and bypass the green mermaid cups. Sorry Starbucks, I don’t have a job, so I’m on a budget! I also sip it slowly and it’s important for me to retain heat in my coffee. That whole iced coffee thing? Shenanigans. Not for me. I like it hot. Ahem.
Even though I don’t travel much farther than school and back with it, I always use a commuter cup to drink my java. Lately I’ve been stealing from my Dad’s stash as my own cups are packed away in storage. Yep. Along with everything else important in life (enter sad face: Sparkle Closest), I forgot to leave out one of my many cups. When this opportunity came along, I knew I not only wanted to try out the Commuter Cup, but I also NEEDED to try one out.
What sealed the deal were the slogans offered. There’s a ton to choose from and something sure to fit any personally. This one spoke to me.
Perfect advice for many of us in this day and age, am I right? If you are working, playing, chatting, blogging, reading, Farmvilling, or whatever… sometimes you just have to GO RUN. I picked shiny red because it’s a good color for me. And they didn’t offer lime green. #WhompWhomp
It keeps the coffee nice and hot, but the cup itself stays cool. My only small complaint was the lid and mouth piece. I usually buy lids that open by sliding into itself. As you can see, the lid flips open to drink. I had to get used to the flip part which hits my nose as I drink. Really, this was no big deal. When I compared it to the slider lids I realized those tend to fail over time. My slider lids have problems staying wide open- and they aren’t really all that old! This lid should stay tight for years to come. It won me over and I am perfectly happy with this cup. You can buy your own for for under $20- or CREATE your own saying for just a few dollars more! The second item I chose was the Everyday Tee- State Runner shirts.
I had to make a decision here. I was newly arrived in Arizona, but you know, my heart was still in Texas. To be honest, I might always think of myself as a Texas runner. But I’m going to let my new BRFs try to convince me otherwise when we run the Phoenix Marathon (half marathon for me, thank you very much!) on March 1. Until then, I went with my heart and ordered the Texas Runner.
I love it. It’s super soft and it fits me perfectly (this is true to size with my other tech and t-shirts). It’s a cotton/polyester blend and the color is slightly heathered. This is a women’s fitted t-shirt. My recommendation to those that wish to wear it looser: order a size up. There’s five different colors to choose from, and of course, 51 different options: Holla, District of Columbia! Again- for under $20.
Gone For a Run also offers a long sleeve version, a hoodie version, a tech shirt version (in both men and women’s cuts) and a neon look for the ladies.
You love your state? Represent!
You might have noticed that both of these items can be purchased for about $20. Who wants to win a $20 gift card from Gone For A Run? I thought so. You know what to do.
What’s your state of choice? Which commuter cup slogan would you choose?

Not sure if my comment disappeared or what. I would use it for a medal hanger, or some NE running gear, or....there are a lot of possibilities.
